Beginning his career in August 1978 as a Structural Design Engineer in the CPWD Circle Office, Allahabad, Rajesh Khare laid a strong foundation in engineering design. During this early phase, he was actively involved in designing various framed structures and earthquake-resistant buildings—an area that demands precision, foresight, and a deep understanding of safety standards. These formative years helped him develop a strong technical base and a keen eye for detail.
In 1983, he joined UP Jal Nigam, where he dedicated over three decades of service, rising through various capacities before retiring as an Executive Engineer in February 2018. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in planning, designing, estimating, and executing numerous civil engineering projects. His expertise extended to both load-bearing and framed structures, along with critical infrastructure such as overhead tanks, sewage treatment plants (STPs), and raw water treatment facilities. His contribution significantly enhanced the efficiency and sustainability of water management systems in the region.
Rajesh Khare’s capabilities were not limited to government service. He also served as a Project Manager in a sister concern of UP Jal Nigam, where he successfully led the planning and execution of large-scale projects, including Bhadohi Vikas Bhawan, Collectorate buildings, stadiums, motels, guest houses, and an extensive network of urban and rural roads in Sant Ravidas Nagar district. His ability to manage complex projects while ensuring quality and cost optimization highlights his exceptional leadership and organizational skills.
Further strengthening his professional profile, he also served as an Expert TLE (Team Leader Expert) with WAPCOS, Government of India, where he contributed his technical expertise to infrastructure and water management-related assignments. This role added national-level exposure to his already vast experience and reinforced his reputation as a trusted engineering professional.
After retirement, his passion for engineering led him to establish his own consultancy, focusing on the design of various civil structures, including overhead tanks and STP components. His excellence in design was recognized when he achieved first prize in building design under individual housing capacities—an acknowledgment of his creativity and technical brilliance.
In 2019, he took on the role of Chief Engineer at PACSFED, Lucknow, a multi-state cooperative society under the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. Here, he continued to contribute his vast experience to large-scale infrastructure and development projects. Additionally, he gained valuable exposure in third-party inspection services with Elites India Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi, where he also served as the State Head for Uttarakhand.
Currently, Rajesh Khare remains actively engaged as a consultant and structural designer, working on ISR Modular STP projects for Telemachus Pvt. Ltd., contributing his expertise to advanced and sustainable wastewater treatment solutions across multiple cities, including Lucknow, Pratapgarh, Chhatarpur, New Delhi, and Junagadh. His continued involvement in ongoing projects demonstrates his enduring dedication to the field.
