Purva Sharma: Raising the Bar for Quality Education in Guna

Mrs. Purva Sharma, Principal of Shree Radha International School, Guna, has emerged as a committed education leader focused on making quality, globally benchmarked education accessible within the city. Her professional journey, which began in the classroom, has evolved through years of teaching, academic coordination, and institutional leadership. Since June 2021, she has been steering the school with a clear vision of nurturing academically capable, confident, communicative, and values-driven students.

Her career in education was shaped by the belief that a good teacher can change the direction of a child’s life. Before assuming the principalship, she gained valuable experience as a teacher and coordinator at Medicaps School, Indore, Neiil World School, and Ediffy  School, Mandsaur. These roles provided her with a strong understanding of academic planning, student mentorship, teacher development, and the everyday responsibilities involved in creating meaningful learning environments.

A defining milestone in her leadership journey came with the successful achievement of Guna’s first ICSE Board affiliation for Shree Radha International School. Establishing an ICSE institution in a tier-2 city presented considerable challenges, including questions about parental acceptance, teacher preparedness, and compliance with rigorous academic standards. She approached these challenges with vision, patience, and teamwork, bringing teachers, parents, and students together around a shared objective.

The affiliation represented more than an institutional achievement. It created an opportunity for students in Guna to access a nationally recognized curriculum without having to relocate to larger educational centres such as Indore or Bhopal. For her, the milestone reinforced the importance of creating high-quality educational opportunities closer to home.

Another significant aspect of her leadership has been the development of a teacher-led culture. She believes that every classroom should encourage curiosity, critical thinking, confidence, and meaningful participation rather than rely solely on instruction. Through training, collaboration, and empowerment, she has worked to strengthen the capabilities of educators and create an environment where teachers can contribute actively to institutional growth.

Student development remains central to her educational philosophy. She takes particular pride in witnessing students become more confident, articulate, and grounded in values. The transformation of students’ aspirations, including parents sharing that their children have begun to “dream bigger,” represents for her one of the most meaningful outcomes of educational leadership.

Her vision extends beyond the school itself. She aims to establish Shree Radha International School as a centre of excellence for Central India while contributing to the development of Guna as an emerging education hub. She seeks to ensure that students can access quality schooling locally while remaining connected to Indian cultural and ethical values. She also aspires to mentor and encourage more women to pursue leadership roles in education.

Her commitment has received recognition through honours including Promising School of the Year, Change Maker in Education, School with Educational Excellence, and the Holkar Pride Award 2026. These accolades reflect her efforts toward academic quality, institutional innovation, and student-centred education.

Her leadership philosophy is grounded in purpose rather than position. She advocates continuous learning, community service, consistency, and the courage to begin with available resources. Through these principles, Mrs. Purva Sharma continues to strengthen educational standards in Guna and work toward creating a lasting legacy of excellence, opportunity, and purposeful learning.
