Every enduring hospitality story begins with simple grit. Eagle Motel’s began in 1952, when 14-year-old S. Bhagwan Singh Dua opened a modest roadside eatery opposite the Rajpura Railway Station. Having migrated from West Punjab following the Partition of India in 1947, he was forced to rebuild his life from scratch. As a one-man army at Bhagwan Dhaba ,he built more than a local business; he established a reputation for warmth, integrity, and dependable service.
The enterprise expanded alongside the region’s growing transit network. In 1969, the family diversified into petroleum distribution with Bhagwan Service Station, creating a longstanding highway landmark. The decisive transformation came in 1977 with a strategic relocation to National Highway 1 (historically Sher Shah Suri Marg).
Reintroduced as Eagle Motel, the property grew into a three-acre destination at the “Gateway of Punjab,” purpose-built to serve India’s rapidly evolving travel ecosystem.
The Kitchen and Modern Infrastructure
Despite seven decades of scale, Eagle Motel remains rooted in food and hospitality: Hospitality & Leisure: Features 57 guest rooms, four banquet halls for regional celebrations, and a 24×7 flagship restaurant.
Modern Retail Hub: A highway food court anchored by global brands, including Starbucks, Burger King, Subway, and Baskin Robbins.
Heritage & Experiential Tourism: In collaboration with Tagtaste, the property hosted the Saag Culinary Tour for 40 guests—an immersive journey through local vegetable farms, traditional wood-fire cooking, hand-churned madhani lassi, and fresh gur making, concluding with dinner and cultural performances at the motel.
Three Generations of Leadership
Following the passing of S. Bhagwan Singh Dua in 2006, his sons, S. Gurinder Singh Dua and S. Amarjeet Singh Dua, took over the helm. They modernized operations, introduced institutional standards, and expanded the family’s civic footprint across Punjab.
Today, the third generation integrates global expertise into day-to-day management:
Harpreet Singh Dua (Diploma in Hotel Management, TAFE Sydney) oversees operations and guest-service benchmarks.
Jotsimran Singh Dua (MSc in International Business, Brunel University London ) directs strategy, partnerships, and expansion.
Sukhkirat Singh Dua (Panjab University; Dubai-trained cinematic photographer) leads brand identity, architectural aesthetics, and guest experience design.
The guest book spans sports icons, artists, and statesmen—including Virender Sehwag, Anupam Kher, Gurdas Maan, Hans Raj Hans ,Garry Sandhu , Central and State Ministers . Yet, whether hosting dignitaries or everyday motorists breaking a long journey, the standard remains identical to the founder’s original 1952 ethos: every traveler is received with authentic Punjabi warmth.
