Currently serving as an Associate Professor in Education at St. Joseph College of Teacher Education for Women, Ernakulam, affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, Dr. Jose specializes in Educational Technology (e-Learning), Special Education, and English Education. Throughout her academic journey, she has remained dedicated to developing teaching methodologies that make education more accessible, engaging, and effective for learners with diverse needs.
One of the defining aspects of her academic career has been her research in educational technology and inclusive education. Her doctoral research focused on e-learning, while a state-level research project funded by the Centre for Disability Studies, Kerala, examined the effectiveness of e-learning for students with reading and writing disorders in English. The study highlighted how technology can bridge learning gaps and provide equal educational opportunities for children facing learning challenges, reinforcing her commitment to inclusive and student-centered education.
Beyond research, Dr. Jose possesses an impressive blend of academic and technical expertise. She is proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite—including Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash, and InDesign—as well as programming languages such as PHP, JavaScript, and Python. Born in 1975 in Muttuchira, Kerala, Dr. Jose pursued her education with dedication and academic distinction. She completed her schooling at St. Agnes GHS, Muttuchira, before continuing her higher studies at Alphonsa College, Pala, KE College, Mannanam, and St. Thomas College, Pala. She earned her Bachelor of Education from St. Thomas Training College, Pala, followed by a Master of Education from St. Ann’s College, Mangalore. She later completed her Ph.D. in Education from Mahatma Gandhi University, specializing in e-learning, which laid the foundation for her pioneering work in technology-enhanced education.
Before joining St. Joseph College of Teacher Education for Women in 2003, she served as a UGC-Junior Research Fellow at the Regional Institute of Education, Mysore, and later as a Higher Secondary School Teacher in English at St. George Higher Secondary School, Aruvithura. These experiences enriched her understanding of classroom teaching, educational research, and teacher preparation.
Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Jose values family as an integral part of her life. She is the eldest daughter of P.J. Joseph Pandarakappil and C.M. Aleyamma and shares her life with her husband, Roy Verumkal Kuruvila, and their children, Emmanuel, Joseph, and Annmary.
