Dr. Brajadulal Chakrabarti: A Life Dedicated to Industrial Growth, Knowledge, and Human Upliftment

Dr. Brajadulal Chakrabarti’s life journey stands as a remarkable example of dedication, versatility, and unwavering commitment to both professional excellence and human development. With a career spanning across engineering, industrial development, education, administration, and spiritual research, he has contributed significantly to nation-building and societal progress.

Beginning his professional journey with the prestigious Chittaranjan Locomotive Works of Indian Railways, Dr. Chakrabarti played a role in locomotive engine production, marking the foundation of his technical expertise.
His early career further extended to the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) at Panchet Dam, where he was involved in the Central Equipment Pool in the servicing of used vehicles and heavy equipments for further use in other Dams and places, gaining hands-on experience in large-scale operations.

Expanding his horizons globally, he contributed his service in the multi-national consulting engineering organization,M.N.Dastur & Co, in steel plant design upto Implementation, working on projects both in India and abroad.
His technical acumen also led him to Veegal Engines & Engineering Ltd., where he had associated himself with the production of petrol engines of various H.P. and gliders, showcasing his multifaceted engineering capabilities.

Dr. Chakrabarti’s professional trajectory was not confined to industry alone. He transitioned into academia for sharing his knowledge with future engineers at Government Polytechnic Institute and Engineering college in Tripura, now known as TIT and NIT respectively. His passion for education played a crucial role in shaping young minds and strengthening technical learning.

A significant chapter of his career was his tenure as General Manager in the Department of Industries & Commerce,Government of Tripura,. In this role, he was instrumental in implementing policies for the development of cottage, small, and medium-scale industries. He actively worked towards craftsmen development through ITIs, collaborated with World Bank initiatives for the promotion of ITIs, and facilitated subsidies and training programs to promote entrepreneurship. His administrative leadership contributed to strengthening industrial infrastructure and fostering economic growth at the grassroots level.

Post-retirement, Dr. Chakrabarti continued his impactful journey as the CEO of SPACETECH Group of Companies in Maharashtra, where he contributed overseeing managerial and executive service to the manufacturing of pressure vessels, structural components, and cryogenic equipments for both domestic and international markets.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, he chose to step away from corporate responsibilities and dedicated his time to research in yogic science. His scholarly pursuits led to the publication of research papers and the authorship of insightful books aimed at guiding individuals towards holistic well-being and spiritual growth.

Coming from a humble yet scholastically rich heritage, he pursued extensive academic qualifications including :

He was ,in fact, deeply inspired by his father, Pandit Surendramohan Chakrabarti Kavyatirtha Kavyaratna, a Nationally Awarded Government Teacher, honoured by Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan,the then President of India.

Beyond his professional and academic achievements, Dr. Chakrabarti remains deeply committed to social welfare. His concern for underprivileged communities and his belief in their upliftment reflect his compassionate outlook towards society.
